We promised some information on addressing death & dying with your children since we heard that Topsy & Tim were going to lose their beloved pet dog.
Sadly, since then the atrocities in Paris have taken place which is likely to be on the radar of children of school age especially. We have had a few reports from parents of talk in the playgrounds and of course, there are a lot of questions arising from this.
Renée van der Vloodt has written a blog on the topic of helping your children live life without the fear of dying. In fact, Renée had written this prior to the terror attacks in France but it has become incredibly timely and in any case, hopefully it is a useful guide for you.
How to address your child’s fear of death & dying
Renée will be joining us at the beginning of 2016 for a 2-part course designed to help us understand and manage the challenging behaviours of our children. Look out for more information to follow very soon…
The mums night our organised by our fab events team, Juliet and Helen was such a success!
8 of us rocked up to Joules for a cocktail making session and we all rolled out a few hours later..!!
We got to shake, layer and muddle our cocktails behind the bar and we got some good tips along the way. The cocktails really were delicious so hopefully this will become an annual event!
Here are a few pics, if you’ve got your own from the night please share with us.
Last week was super fun at TAP, we were very lucky to have Tabita from Baby Sensory and also Samantha from Toddler Sense!
This meant that both the babies and our energetic toddlers had a class to join in together and the feedback has been so positive – everyone had a great time!
The lovely Baby Sensory class details can be found here: http://www.babysensory.com/en/ClassDetails/croydon
Samantha’s class are in the Subud Hall so nice and familiar for you :-). Timetables for classes can be found here: http://www.babysensory.com/en/ToddlerClassDetails/reigate-region
Please do get in touch with them if you’d like to sign your little ones up to classes.
Thanks again to Tabita and Samantha, we hope to see you again!
A note from our Chair – Heidi:
Lovely to hear that quite a few of you are planning to come along to the AGM on Monday 16th November. If anyone else is interested in hearing about the running of the club or is thinking of getting involved then please come along.
Even if you can’t come on the 16th you can still volunteer a hand – just speak to me (Heidi) – every little bit helps greatly in the running of our club.
We do have quite a few committee members stepping down this year now that their little ones are school age. I’m aware that there are already quite a few of you interested in the roles however I think it is protocol that I should list all the roles vacancies so here they are:
- TAP taster sessions co-ordinator
- Website & Facebook lead
- Advertising lead
It may look like a lot but this years’ committee have tried to break the roles into bite-sized pieces so that no one role is overwhelming for anyone. Please let me know if you think you may be interested in joining the committee or if you have any questions about any of the roles.
The one element we will probably remove is the Nearly New Sales team as there seems to be little appetite for continuing the sales however, if you feel strongly about the value they add to the club please step up and we can of course reinstate them.
The AGM is 8pm at Home Cottage in Redhill (round the back of the station). The first drink will be on the club for everyone that comes!
Hope to see many of you there!
Due to some issues with our last bank account, we’ve decided to update to a new account and have a fresh start! So, please make a note of the new details and update your online accounts:

Some piccies from MAD Academy at TAP:
We’re really looking forward to having Tabita from Baby Sensory come to TAP this Wednesday 4th November for a taster session especially for our little ones and new mums!
Tabita has plenty of experience with helping mums of multiples get the most out of the session, we know everyone will have a great time!
Baby Sensory was the first baby programme to offer a complete approach to learning and development from birth to 13 months. Designed to stimulate, educate and provide precious memories during the all-important first year of life, the programme has won multiple awards both nationally and internationally since 2008.
As with all TAP taster sessions, there’s no extra charge, just come along and enjoy with your babies!
